Michelle Militi, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Hi, I’m Michelle, a clinical Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma, attachment styles, relational development, and experiential therapy. I integrate schema therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my work. My style is integrative and flexible, blending both top-down (what one thinks) and bottom-up (what one feels) approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with.

I am committed to providing an approachable, collaborative, and purpose-oriented environment in session. An opportunity to look inward for true insight and understanding, which then opens up the space necessary to discover empowering ways of experiencing a life that feels nurturing and whole.

Many people who make their way to a session with me are high functioning yet encountering stressors—both internal and external—that challenge their ability to thrive in one or more areas of their life.

Whether it’s moving through a life transition such as feeling oneself get older, managing anxiety, tricky life circumstances, or improving relationships, I enjoy helping clients access the parts of self they need to elevate from coping to self-enrichment.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years teaching college-level interpersonal communication. This working experience sparked my passion for understanding the struggle adults face in their relationships—with not only others, but also within themselves. I am still a college educator, and I bring the insights I gain from the classroom into my work as a therapist, where I help people break down communication barriers, gain new awareness, and cultivate healthier, more fulfilling connections.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our children (who are away at college), and our dogs. I value closeness with family and friends, and love traveling, being close to nature, and finding fresh air and sunshine. Creative exploration and activities are a big part of my life, as it helps me stay inspired and grounded in the present.

In our session you will find a safe and welcoming space to explore whatever’s on your mind. I am here as a non-judgmental guide, ready to travel alongside you on a journey toward growth and a greater sense of well-being.

Michelle is accepting clients over the age of 18. Sessions are in-person or virtual upon request.

"Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind

can never exhaust, never alienate,

never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting.

Learning is the only thing for you.

Look what a lot of things there are to learn."
