Sherie Richards Ramsgard, MSN, FNP/ NPP

Practitioner & Owner of WMW

 

Sherie brings over 30 years of education and experience working with individuals, families, and groups of all ages in the areas of mental health and wellness. 

As a Certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Sherie is holisically oriented towards clients as Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual beings and believe the best treatment for Mental Health encorporates the "Whole" being using not only traditional medications and psychotherapy, but an integrative treatment approach that looks at nutrition, exercise, sleep, and non-traditional approaches. 

Traditional psychotherapy consist of a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT), and short term - solution focused treatments. All of these strategies include educatiing and working with client to develop an individualized approach that works best for them. 

Non-Traditional approaches include mindfulness, meditation,  self-compassion/gratitude, and positive neuroplacticity practices.

MS in Nursing - Syracuse University

Family Nurse Practitioner - Syracuse University (ANCC Board Certified)

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - New York State 

She received the MSN Research Award from Syracuse University in 1998, with her thesis/research on Presence and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

In 2001 she received the Advanced Psychiatric Nurse of the Year Award from the Syracuse Area Psychiatric Nurses Association. 

She has presented at several local and national conventions on various mental health-related topics.
